Personal Facts:
As a very young child (no older than 4 or 5) his mother had to tie him to her sewing machine to keep him from wandering away
Advanced from 2nd to 3rd grade during middle of 2nd grade year - His teacher was his own Aunt Flossie
Chores as a youth included:  milking cows, chopping and hauling wood
Favorite Elementary School subjects:  Math & Reading
Description of many childhood games he played
Favorite High School Subjects:  Math & Shop
Graduated from Gunnison High School spring 1935
After High school he looked for work in California, while staying with older sister Eva. - returned to family farm work in Utah
Fall of 1936 started Snow College - taking 2 quarters a year instead of 3 so he would still be available to help with the farm -  graduated spring 1939
Married fall of 1939 - work many different jobs for friends and family to earn money
Fall 1940 moved to Provo and started college (Brigham Young) to get a teaching certificate.  Graduated spring 1941
First teaching job was in Helper Utah beginning Fall 1941, lived there until 1945
Supplemented income by working on railroad
     - restocking supplies on Cabooses "Caboose supply boy"
     - constructing railroad grade: deliveries, hauling flume pipe
Broke his leg while painting - fell from the roof of the chapel
1945 Moved to Fountain Green, Utah to teach in North  Sanpete School District
1946 Moved then to Nephi, Utah to teach in Juab School district
1954 Move to Granite School District (Granger) teaching and handyman duties

Hunting stories to supplement food stores for large family on small income.
Always had additional jobs to support the family - sometimes taking the children along on some of the jobs
Heart health troubles
Loved hunting, golfing, gardening, and fishing.
